What I'm bringing to IDC 2026

Delighted to be attending IDC 2026 in Brighton this week. I’ll be contributing with the following things:

• A work-in-progress paper — a short review of empirical research with children and AI: The Everything Tool Problem: A Scoping Review of Empirical Research with Young People and Generative AI. You can also download the poster (PDF).
• A full paper — another literature review — exploring children’s agency in relation to AI, as part of my work with CHAILD: Agency in Child–AI Interaction: A Review of How It Is Conceptualised, Studied, and Supported in HCI.
• A paper on the different understanding of AI literacy needed within schools, for the GROW-AI workshop on community-centred literacy: What school staff need from AI literacy — download the paper (PDF).

I’ll also be at the DFC workshop — Designing ethical and rights-respecting child-centred AI for learning — which will have a manifesto to follow!

A busy, but fascinating, few days ahead.
